Sights of Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is the most well-known city in Brazil. Rio is known for its beaches, carnival, nightlife and its breathtaking landscape. It has many iconic sights which include Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Christ the Redeemer statue on top of Corcovado mountain and the famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. It is difficult to capture the true cities sights and colours through images, however, you can pretty quickly gauge why Rio de Janerio is known is ‘marvelous city’.

Christ the Redeemer statue – Cristo Redentor
Christ the Redeemer or, Christo Redentor, is Rio’s most iconic figure. The statues share size makes it viewable from almost anywhere in the city.
Sugarloaf Mountain – Pao de Acucar
Pao de Acucar ‘Sugarloaf Mountain’ looks over Guanabara Bay, Rio de Janeiro. The mountain boasts amazing views of the city and is one of the best places to watch the sunset over the city.
The Rio de Janeiro Carnival is the most famous carnival in Brazil and one of the biggest and best celebrations in the world. While the Samba Parade is the most well-known event of the Carnaval, the other highlights of the Rio Carnival are its street festivities, samba dancers dressed in elaborate costumes, music, and countless balls & parties held along the beaches and in nightclubs across the city are all hallmarks of the Carnival in Rio.

Copacabana is one of the most famous beaches in the Wolrd. The beach stretches for 4 kilometres and is lined with food, stalls, music and entertainment.
Escadaria Selaron is Rio’s iconic colourful stairs winding up from Lapa to Santa Teresa. The share size and scale of the stairs and workload involved is truly amazing.
Santa Terresa is located on top of the Santa Teresa hill, by the centre of Rio. The suburb is famous for its winding, narrow streets which are a favourite spot for artists and tourists. The suburb boasts great views of the city and Lapa.
This iconic stadium has been host to numerous historic world football games.
Arpoador is a small neighbourhood situated between Copacabana and Ipanema. Arpoador has a large rock outlet stretching out to see, providing amazing views of Ipanema and Leblon and acting as a natural arena to cheer down the setting sun.
